Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center is currently accepting applications through June 10, 2016 for volunteer garden/landscape helpers. Join Monona Terrace landscape maintenance on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays for a weekly shift to keep the gardens growing and beautiful. Duties may include deadheading, planting, pulling weeds, mulching, pruning, digging, sweeping, and keeping the gardens and terrace surface maintained. Volunteers must be able to handle physical activity, including bending, lifting, kneeling and tolerate some weather fluctuations. Volunteers must commit to a weekly shift on either Tuesday or Thursday from 8-11AM through October. This position is open immediately. Knowledge about gardening is not necessary and training is provided. Excellent candidates are individuals who enjoy working outdoors, getting their hands dirty, take direction well, and have a high tolerance for a wide range of weather conditions.
