After many years of composer submissions and being asked to premiere new pieces, MTM is thrilled to be able to bring its first series of musical theatre readings to Madison! This inaugural festival of new works showcases three innovative, thought-provoking pieces created by promising new voices in the musical theatre canon. Each show will be presented in a site specific location to help set the tone for what could be one of tomorrow's classics. We look forward to making this an annual event and adding additional shows to the lineup in future years! All readings are FREE, but reservations are recommended.

Based on the 1946 cult novel and subsequent film, Nightmare Alley is the story of a down on his luck con man who infiltrates a side show. This innovative and spooky story, told through a series of living tarot cards, had its last performance at New York's Signature Theatre as part of the 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival. MTM's reading will be of a largely revised version that has not yet been heard
