press release: Taliesin Preservation is pleased to announce the brand new Summer Farm Dinner Series. We invite you to learn about the multiple ways land is used here at Taliesin. Each dinner will host optional hikes through the landscape with exclusive speakers from the farms and landscape department.
All dinners include four course farm-to-table spread with beer and wine pairings. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking backdrop. Dinner is sourced from local producers and will feature farm-fresh seasonal vegetables from the Taliesin fields. Taliesin Preservation will host three unique farm dinners this season, emphasizing different aspects of the Taliesin landscape.
June 25, 2016 at 5 p.m. - Agricultural Landscape Dinner
Early summer dining experience highlighting the agricultural past, present, and future of Taliesin. The optional hike will include Taliesin’s Midway barn and agricultural areas of the estate, including the vegetable farm operated by Fazenda Boa Terra and certified organic fields farmed by Otter Creek Organic Farms.
August 21, 2016 at 5 p.m.- Natural Landscape Dinner
Late summer dining experience highlighting our natural landscape, with views of the Jones Valley and Welsh Hills. A hike will include areas of our ongoing ecological restoration work and show the complexity involved in planning the restoration of the Taliesin pond. Special guests will be on hand to enrich the discussion.
October 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. - Cultural Landscape Dinner
Fall dining experience highlighting the bounty of harvest and the cultural landscape of Taliesin. The fall hike will include the historic apple orchard and vineyard at Taliesin as well as other features of Wright’s landscape design. This event will include apple pressing and socializing with special guests.
