8/30: ROB DZ & THE NEW BREED: For the last Jazz on A Sunday we end with a bang! Lyricist Rob Dz joins The New Breed for a night of jazz and spoken word. A master improvising poet, Rob has been at home performing with jazz artists like the Chicago Yestet, Johannes Wallmann’s Love Wins Ensemble, the Rick Flowers Floroq Septet, and the house band at Madison’s annual Juneteenth Celebration. In the more than 20 years of The New Breed Jazz Jam, Rob has been a frequent collaborator with the trio. His warm blend of spoken word and freestyle rhymes complements Paul Hastil’s fender Rhodes, Michael Brenneis’ drums, and Nick Moran’s bass work.
