press release: Public Meeting/Information Session for Olbrich Botanical Gardens’ Learning Center and Greenhouses
Wednesday, October 18, 7-8:30 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to learn about the project plans for Olbrich’s first dedicated education space and new, efficient greenhouses at a public meeting on Wednesday, October 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in Olbrich’s William T. Evjue Commons. Architects from Meyer, Scherer, Rockcastle, Ltd. (MSR Design) will present the schematic design and give updates on the progress of the project.
Pre-design work for this project began in summer 2017; the design development phase will begin in fall/early winter 2017; construction is anticipated to start in fall 2018 with a projected completion date of fall 2019.
MSR Design is a Minneapolis-based architectural firm that “actively engages our clients to understand the needs of the users, the opportunities of the site, and the budget, while considering the social, cultural, and environmental constraints and goals of each project.” The firm has worked on notable projects including the Madison Central Library, University of Minnesota Morris Welcome Center, Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Bee and Pollinator Center, and more.
