Old-Time Barn Dance
to
media release: Mark your calendars for another great performance and dance featuring former Musician-in-Residence Beth Hoven Rotto, Jon Rotto, and the Scandinavian-American Old-time Dance Music Ensemble!
Beth, Jon, and the Ensemble will be performing their old-time repertoire for dancers in a refurbished barn in Middleton, WI. This event will be about as close as you’ll come to an old-time barn dance from the turn of the 20th century, featuring dance tunes of the Scandinavian-Americans who settled in the Driftless Area. Expect a slightly rustic setting, with portable toilets, some original (and uneven) floorboards, and a cheerful, casual atmosphere. Dress for fall temperatures, mask according to your personal preference. You are welcome bring a lawn chair for sitting on the lawn outside the barn (you might want a blanket to cover up with as well!).
The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be provided. Carpooling is encouraged. We hope to see you there!
