press release: Blooming Grove Historical Society invites you to its inaugural holiday play of poems, songs and vignettes at Historic Dean House Dec 6 – 8.  

‘Old World Christmas in a Victorian Parlor’ includes a scene from ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,’ the Medieval parable ‘Our Lady’s Juggler,’ and the Yuletide tale from ‘Wind in the Willows.’  Act II is a solo performance of ‘A Child’s Christmas in Wales,’ Dylan Thomas’ madcap memoir of Mrs. Prothero and the firemen, Christmas hippos, and snow shaken from white wash buckets down the sky.

Cast includes Portia Adney, Brian Belz, Doug Davis, Estella Diaz, Becky Jones, Michael O'Rourke, Charlotte and Maxine Perry, Rita Mae Reese, and Sarah Whelan.  Material adapted and directed by Michael O’Rourke.

Pay-what-you-can preview is Dec 6 at 7 p.m.  Show runs Dec 7 and 8 at 7 p.m., plus a matinee on Dec 8 at 2 p.m.  Tickets are $5 donation for children ages 5 – 12, $10 for adults (not recommended for children under 5). Proceeds benefit Dean House. Seating is limited to 20 per performance!  Reservations required (608) 223-6803.  Historic Dean House is located at 4718 Monona Drive, Madison, WI 53716.
