Paper Folding Dance: Dancing the Score for Folding, Unfolding, Refolding
Central Library 201 W. Mifflin St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
press release: Using all sizes of paper, including oversized pieces of paper, join Artist-in-Residence, Liz Sexe as we create worlds to explore. Remember a time when paper and notes were how we communicated. We will ask the questions: Why do we fold paper? What can we create with paper folding? What memories exist with paper folding?
This workshop serves as sample for the community rehearsals that will take place for the performance at Hawthorne Library. “Folding, Unfolding, Refolding” is a piece that Liz has been working on, and can be performed in various settings and with all people. No experience necessary, please register ahead of time. Open to all ages.
Liz Sexe is a dance educator, performer and choreographer/artistic director of Liz Sexe Dance Company, established in 2014. In her processes, tasks inspire poetic movement, game theory finds logical, yet often unexpected phrasing, and athletic dancing is paired with deep intentionality.
