A great burst of pre-code fun, Paramount on Parade was Paramount Pictures’ contribution to the all-star studio musical revue movie cycle of the early talkie years. Featuring 20 individual segments from 11 directors, the movie is literally a showcase for the incredible talents under contract: Gary Cooper, Clara Bow, Fredric March, Maurice Chavalier, Jean Arthur, Kay Francis, Jack Oakie, William Powell, Fay Wray, and lots, lots more stars. Hard to see for many years, a few sequences have been lost or partially lost. This 35mm preservation print from the UCLA Film & Television Archive restores the two-color Technicolor to several sequences and is the most complete version available.
