Perfect Harmony Chorus
media release: Entering its 26th year, Perfect Harmony Chorus presents their spring concert: “Perfect Harmony Rocks the Pops,” featuring pop and rock music from across the decades. The multi-generational chorus is thrilled to share arrangements of songs that are as poignant and timely as they are just rockin’ good fun. This season’s selections invoke both deep thought and pure cheer as the month of Pride kicks off with Madison’s premiere LGBTQ+ vocal performance group.
Hits from the ‘60s like “Blackbird” by The Beatles, “Good Vibrations” by The Beach Boys, and “My Girl” by “Smokey” Robinson, elicit lifelong memories for singers and audience alike. Music made popular by artists like Billy Joel, Elton John and Michael Jackson fill out the ‘70s and ‘80s – including Jackson’s #1 hit from 1988, “Man in the Mirror.” The ‘90s and 2000s have their moments to shine with songs like Radiohead’s “Creep” and Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball.” And to round off the 2010s, Perfect Harmony will perform Lady Gaga’s “Angel Down,” a torch song influenced by the death of Treyvon Martin that has become a song of protest for all marginalized communities, particularly the Black, queer and transgender communities.
Two performances of "Perfect Harmony Rocks the Pops" will be performed at Christ Presbyterian Church in Madison, on Friday, June 2, at 7:30 PM, and on Sunday, June 4, at 3:00 PM. General admission is $25 per ticket, and will only be available online at www.PerfectHarmonyChorus.org. Christ Presbyterian Church is an open and affirming church, with a fully accessible facility, and both onsite and nearby street parking.
