press release: A blend of traditional and contemporary pieces; Our Story, Our Song contains music by noteworthy queer and queer-allied artists whose works about peace, loving, and change exemplify the core values of PHMC.
The concert features selections by Aaron Copland (Zion's Walls, Ching-A-Ring-Chaw, At the River), Gwyneth Walker (Tree of Peace, There is a Way to Glory, Tell the Earth to Shake), segments from Naked Man, and music composed by Perfect Harmony’s own Arthur Durkee (Ave Mater Noctis, Folk Song, Tikkum). Perfect Harmony’s outreach ensemble Common Chords will be performing One Hand, One Heart as well as One Voice (music and lyrics by Barry Manilow, arranged by Franzo Law II). With a musical selection as unique and varied as its membership, PHMC seeks to show that our story and our history is what unites us.
Perfect Harmony Men's Chorus is Madison's gay and gay-allied men's chorus, using music and performance to enrich the lives of its audience and supporters. They serve within the LGBT+ communities of the area, as well as the Madison Area community at large. “We sing to make a better world.”
