The Periodicals
Madison popsters Raddish are once again hosting a Galentine’s Day concert putting a welcome focus on woman-fronted local bands. “Chipped Tooth/Daisy,” the final piece of Raddish’s serially-released EP, Daisy, is out Feb. 7. Also on the bill: the soulful pub rock 'n soul of The Periodicals; pop-rockers Muscle Memory, returning for their second Galentine’s Day; and one of Madison’s favorite DJs, Sarah Akawa.
media release: Galentine's Day is a celebration of female- and femme-fronted bands in the Madison area. Raddish, being led by Gracie Finnigan-Fox, quickly came to the realization that, despite the breadth and depth of talent in Madison, there's not a big focus on music written and performed by women -- mostly they're just slotted in between the male acts. Most bands are male-fronted and we wanted to celebrate and elevate our fellow "gal bands." Piggybacking off of the 'Galentine's Day' episode from Parks and Recreation, we asked the folks at High Noon to help us make this a reality.
2025 is the second annual Galentine's Day at High Noon; Raddish is excited to welcome Muscle Memory and The Periodicals to join us. We'll have cake from Disco Cherry Bakery to help celebrate the holiday, and we'll finish the night with a DJ set from Sarah Akawa.
