media release: Milwaukee native son and daughters Peter Mulvey & SistaStrings return to their home turf for shows in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Ann Arbor, and Madison. The trio will be performing songs from their 2020 release, Peter Mulvey & SistaStrings: Live at the Cafe Carpe, which was recorded at the legendary venue in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin in January of that pivotal year, shortly before performing in front of audiences became a virtual impossibility.
The trio will also be performing songs from their upcoming release, Love Is All You Need, which was recorded at the Cafe Carpe during the same week as the live album. Squeezed around rehearsing for their two sold-out shows, the trio somehow managed to record a second full-length album of new material. These upcoming shows will be the first that they've performed together since their time in Fort Atkinson.
The Ross sisters, aka SistaStrings relocated to Nashville in June 2021 and in the short time since have rocketed to prominence in that storied music scene. Shortly after arriving, they began playing in Allison Russell's band in support of her GRAMMY-nominated album Outside Child. In the months since, touring has included stops at the storied Newport Folk Festival and at Mexico's "Girls Just Wanna" festival, where in addition to their set with Russell, they accompanied Sheryl Crow and the festival's host, Brandi Carlile.
