For the birds: Polka! Press needs to find a new home, so it’s holding a bird-art printmaking fundraiser. You provide the creativity (and a suggested donation of $20), they’ll provide the tools and expertise.

Join us for a fun afternoon of screenprinting and relief printing in our current studio at 1019 Williamson Street!
Put a bird on it-- seriously. We'll provide paper, ink, pre-burned screens and carved blocks to work from, and the guidance to help you create your own works of art. Have a shirt or garment you want to enhance? Bring it along and we'll help.
Why? Our lease has not been extended, and we need to find a new home, as we will be incurring a large expense to move our heavy equipment out of a basement. $20 suggested donation. An anonymous donor has agreed to match donations up to a grand total of $500, so let's get that match and then some! We're hoping to raise at least $2500. We hope that by offering this workshop we can raise funds for the move, and that workshop attendees can meet some of our fine polka folk-- all while getting hands-on printing experience!
