Punishing the Poor: Criminalizing Poverty

press release: Join Pamela Oliver, Ph.D., on Tuesday, March 28, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Verona Public Library for a current look at race and criminal justice in our state. Oliver, a Conway-Bascom Professor of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will discuss trends in Wisconsin imprisonments and arrests. She will also discuss how our state compares with the rest of the country. This event is made possible with support from the Beyond the Page program, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Madison Community Foundation.
