A little bit of sports, a little bit of magic and a little bit of…Emilio Estevez? It’s all there in Quan Barry’s We Ride Upon Sticks, the local author and UW-Madison English professor’s new coming-of-age novel about friendship and field hockey in a coastal Massachusetts town. Not just any town, though, one with a connection to the famed Salem witch trials. It’s the second novel for Barry, who also has written four books of poetry. The book’s launch is part of the Wisconsin Book Festival.
