media release: One City Schools is proud to announce Rally for Our Future, a powerful community celebration honoring a decade of trailblazing progress in education reform and launching a bold new chapter for children, families, and communities in Madison, the State of Wisconsin, and beyond.

Presented by Summit Credit Union, a valued and trusted community partner of One City Schools, this milestone event will take place on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The Sylvee, 25 S. Livingston St., Madison, WI.“Summit is proud of our longstanding partnership with One City Schools,” said Summit CEO & President Kim Sponem. “When youth develop effective money management skills they are better prepared for lifelong financial wellness. The Summit Credit Union branch at One City Schools is just one example of the innovative educational approach One City Schools provides for their students.”

This milestone commemorates 10 years of transforming the educational success of children from preschool through eighth grade and invites the community to rally behind One City’s mission to build a better, more equitable future for all through high quality, transformative, education for children in Dane County and across Wisconsin.

Evening Highlights Include:

●      A live moderated conversation on how schools, families, and communities can pursue educational excellence with legendary actor, literacy champion, and education advocate LeVar Burton, and internationally acclaimed scholar Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings, a One City board member and national leader in teaching and learning, urban education, and teacher education.

●      World Premiere of “We Are One City” — the official school anthem, performed by the One City Schools Youth Choir.

●      Music by DJ Pain 1, American record producer and DJ from Madison, Wisconsin who has produced for artists including Young Jeezy, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Sarkodie, Rick Ross, Public Enemy, Sole, and Nipsey Hussle.

●      Remarks from One City Schools’ staff, board members, and guest speakers.
