Cedarburg Art Museum N675W63N171 Washington Ave, Cedarburg, Wisconsin 53012
Three Wisconsin artists interpret their surroundings in varied ways with a common medium: relief prints. Ray Gloeckler creates wry, figurative works, exploring the foibles of humankind in his wood engravings or woodcuts. Linda Kelen interprets the Driftless Area landscape in traditional black-inked or colorful, white-line woodcuts. Animals of the farm are frequent subjects and often over life-size in S.V. Medaris’ woodcuts of rural life.
The Cedarburg Art Museum is located at W63N675 Washington Ave. in the Wittenberg-Jochem mansion. Regular museum hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 10am – 4pm and Sunday, noon to 4pm. For more information about this exhibition or a September 12 white-line woodblock workshop by Linda Kelen, visit cedarburgartmuseum.org or call 262 377-6123.
