Real Life Library: Veterans Edition
to
Central Library 201 W. Mifflin St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
press release: November 11, 11:00 am– 4:45 p.m.
This Veterans Day, the Wisconsin Veterans Museum is partnering with the Madison Public Library and WHOA for a special edition of Real Life Library. Inspired by Human Library Project, Real Life Library is a program designed to provide the opportunity for people to listen to and learn from other people’s stories. The Veterans Day event will feature veterans from across the state, who served in various conflicts, branches and roles. These veterans will be “books” that participants can “check-out” and “read.” This first-hand look into the experiences of veterans will help participants understand what it means to serve in the military.
Funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council, with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this project do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Wisconsin Humanities Council supports and creates programs that use history, culture, and discussion to strengthen community life for everyone in Wisconsin.
