Snakes Alive! with Tom Kessenich presents... A Reptile Petting Zoo!
Saturday, October 10, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Tom Kessnich is a native Wisconsin Herpetologist. He has been involved with reptiles for over 35 years, both working with them professionally and maintaining a personal collection. Tom loves animals and feels each one has a purpose: "Reptiles are a very misunderstood group in the animal kingdom. Snakes, in particular, instill fear in most people. However, public attitudes are slowly changing. People are beginning to see snakes not only as fascinating, but also as important and valuable. The fear of snakes is learned behavior and has been exaggerated by such things as misrepresentation and myths." Tom will bring reptiles from his collection for a hands-on program where participants are encouraged to handle the animals while learning how these amazing "herptile" live in their natural habitat, their care in captivity and little known bits of interesting information.
