Resonant Rogues
The Resonant Rogues have traveled the U.S. (and farther-flung locales) learning about a diverse world of musical traditions, and incorporating what they have learned into their own winning blend of string band music. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, the duo features Sparrow on banjo, fiddle and accordion, and Menomonie, Wisconsin, native Keith Smith on guitar; both sing and write songs. Opening is Americana singer-songwriter Jason Dea West (also a Menomonie native and a former bandmate of Smith in folk-punk band Barefoot Surrender, a precursor to Lost Dog Street Band).
$12 ($10 adv.).
media release: Resonant Rogues craft fresh songs from a variety of vintage styles. With a passion for folk music that spans continents and oceans, the Rogues weave the threads of old-time, country, and swing into a beautiful tapestry that simultaneously showcases tradition and innovation.
“Their intense cohesion is so intertwined that it feels like they’re playing with one pair of hands.” –No Depression
“Soaring, haunting vocals” -Lonesome Highway
Jason Dea West is an American troubadour who sings what he lives and lives what he sings. Wests’ poignant lyrics are brilliantly blended with vintage country, folk and blues, and timely sensibilities.
