In light of the recent news from the U.S. Supreme Court, we are updating "Responding to Hate with Love and Solidarity", at 7 p.m. this Saturday night. Speakers and topics will include:
Yaritza Brito, youth organizer from Voces de la Frontera in Madison, will speak about today's Supreme Court decision on President Obama's executive order on DAPA and expanded DACA, as well as her experience as a "Dreamer" organizer around these issues.
Veronica Lazo, Exec. Dir. of UNIDOS Against Domestic Violence, will speak about the impact of the Orlando tragedy on the Latino community here.
Carlos Miranda, bilingual specialist from the Workers Rights Center, will speak about the recent Latino Workers Project report and recommendations on reducing the abuse and exploitation of Latino workers in Dane County.
The panel discussion will run from 7-8:15 p.m., with time for questions at the end.
