press release: These two acclaimed guitarists are partnering to present a varied repertoire that includes classic, jazz, Spanish and Peruvian music.
Richard Hildner has studied and played extensively with one of the leading world exponents of the Afro-Peruvian cajon, Juan 'Cotito' Medrano and also studied in Peru with the legendary Afro-Peruvian guitarist/bassist/composer, the late Maestro Carlos Hayre. He currently plays with a wide range of musical groups such as the Acoplados Latin acoustic duet, Golpe Tierra, the Brazilian Pagode band Grupo Balanca and is the guitarist for Natty Nation.
Louka Patenaude, a veteran of the Madison music scene, is a performing guitarist, teacher, recording studio artist, songwriter and composer. He has appeared on many recordings and has toured throughout the Midwest, Europe and Pacific Asia. Patenaude studied guitar and music theory with Roger Brotherhood and jazz performance in Richard Davis's Black Music Ensemble.
