press release: A bit about Rod Picott: A former construction worker, Picott set his tools aside and picked up a guitar. Now, nearly two decades later, he’s gearing up to release a double album, Out Past the Wires (out March 30), the strongest album of his career. The double album is filled with electrified moments that channel Bruce Springsteen's anthemic stomp, lyrics worthy of Leonard Cohen's work, and quietly heartbreaking moments grounded in Picott's acoustic guitar and road-worn voice.
A bit about Ben de la Cour: Born in London and raised in Brooklyn, Ben de la Cour was playing New York City dive bars nearly a decade before he reached 21. Following an amateur boxing career in Havana and a short stint touring out of a van in the UK, de la Cour released his debut album in 2010. He has since released three more, with praise from publications like No Depression, The Huffington Post, and the Nashville Scene -- even being dubbed by one journalist, "a vitriolic Leonard Cohen." His newest album The High Cost of Living, out April 6, weaves complex and mysterious songwriting with his self-proclaimed musical "Americana-noir" stylings.
