School for Workers 90th Anniversary Celebration
Please join us in celebrating this milestone year!
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 16, 2015
PYLE CENTER, 702 Langdon Street
This year marks the 90th anniversary of the School for Workers, the oldest university-based labor education program in the United States. First established in 1925 as the Summer School for Women Workers in Industry, the School for Workers educated and empowered women to take a more active role in their workplace and community. While not in the classroom learning about industry-specific issues, the women enjoyed social, recreational and cultural activities that formed lasting bonds. The School became coeducational in 1928.
Today, as part of the Division of Continuing Education, Outreach and Electronic Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Extension, the School's mission closely reflects its goals of yesteryear: to empower working people and labor organizations at the job site, in the national economy, and in the global economic system through a comprehensive program of lifelong adult learning opportunities. Please join us in celebrating this milestone year!
Deadline to RSVP: August 26, 2015
