Seed Cleaning/Hammer Milling
press release: Lend a hand in Dane County’s native seed shed (4401 Libby Road) to begin processing the fall harvest. As seed comes in from the field, help is needed getting a jump start on hammer milling. This step in the cleaning process helps to release seed from capsules and break apart seed clusters. No prior experience is needed. All tools and training will be provided. Participants will need to stand on a step stool and tolerate some noise and dust. Hearing protection and dust masks will be provided. Space is limited and registration is required. Limit 4 people per shift.
