Shake the Lake

Boom! This year’s Shake the Lake celebration involves a rock stage and a country stage, family activities and plenty of fireworks to ooh and aah over. National headliners include Hairball (pictured), a “bombastic celebration of arena rock,” and country artists Dylan Schneider and Lee Brice. Sorry, canine Madisonians: Humans seem to need to make really loud noises at least once a year.
press release: The Madison Mallards and Festival Foods are excited to continue their commitment to community involvement in the Madison area with the return of Festival Foods Shake the Lake. Now in its fifth year, the free community celebration is planned for Saturday, June 29, 2019. Festival Foods Shake the Lake will feature live music, food and family activities on John Nolen Drive between Broom Street and Blair Street. The event will start at 5:00 PM again this year. The 2019 event will again feature two stages of national music acts, on each side of the Monona Terrace.
Rock stage: The Family Business 5 pm, Chaser 6:30 pm, Hairball 8 pm.
Country stage: Dylan Schneider 6 pm, Dylan Scott 7 pm, Lee Brice 8:30 pm.
The event will conclude with Wisconsin’s largest fireworks display, the Festival Foods Fireworks show, starting at 10 p.m. Reeseville, Wisconsin-based Spectrum Pyrotechnics, will conduct the fireworks show. The company is one of just a few manufacturers of display fireworks left in the United States, and Festival Foods Shake the Lake is honored to present its custom work.
Fireworks will be fired from multiple barges on Lake Monona, and the show will be choreographed to music with fireworks and effects selected to match the soundtrack.
Announced as headliner on the Country Stage is Lee Brice. When it comes to Lee Brice’s new self-titled album’s sound, you can blame Aunt Henrietta. When you dig into Lee Brice, with its thick grooves, the squalling guitars, the tumbling drums, sheets of steamy B-3 organ and wide open vocals, the two time CMA/ACM/Grammy Song of the Year nominee takes listeners to church, school, home and out on a Saturday night.
Dylan Scott and Dylan Schneider will be the supporting acts on the 96.3 Star Country Stage presented by Apple Wellness, read more about the artists at ShaketheLake.org.
HAIRBALL was recently announced as the headliner for the Metro Family Rock Stage presented by Metro Kia and Metro Ford of Madison, with support from The Family Business and Chasers.
Both stages will have standing room only space, available on a first come, first served basis. Admission to the event is free. All music will conclude at 10:00 PM, when Wisconsin’s largest fireworks display, the Festival Foods Fireworks show, will begin. Reeseville, Wisconsin-based Spectrum Pyrotechnics, will conduct the fireworks show. The company is one of just a few manufacturers of display fireworks left in the United States, and Festival Foods Shake the Lake is honored to present its custom work.
Great free views of the Festival Foods Fireworks will be available on John Nolen Drive, where there will be food, beverages and family entertainment for the duration of the event. Reserved tickets to enjoy the spectacular views of the show from the Monona Terrace Rooftop during the event are on sale. Tickets this year will be $17 and will increase to $20 on June 1. This event has sold out the last four years. Purchase tickets by calling the Mallards Office at (608) 246-4277 or visit shakethelake.org.
