This multimedia production from Fermat’s Last Theater Company is the latest in a series of explorations of the life and work of the German playwright Bertolt Brecht. This show includes live music, poetry, audio and actors playing a variety of roles to create an immersive experience.
press release: Fermat’s Last Theater Company’s summer show will be Singing in the Dark Times – The Many Trials of Bertolt Brecht and open Wednesday, August 8 at the Arts + Literature Laboratory, 2021 Winnebago St. The performance is a continuation of Fermat’s 2017-2018 Brecht Project. Performances are Wednesday August 8, Thursday August 9, Friday August 10 at 7:30 PM and Sunday August 12 at 2 PM, all at the Arts + Literature Laboratory, 2021 Winnebago in Madison. All shows are free.
Isabel Karp will portray Brecht, Greer Dubois and Maggie Schenk are ensemble members playing a variety of roles and Diana Wheeler will be principal musician (violin and percussion). Greer, Maggie and Diana performed in our spring workshop, Acting Un-American – HUAC vs the Federal Theater Project and last fall’s Mother Courage Alone.
