Solidarity Saturdays

media release: Allies for Black Lives invites you to join us for our next Solidarity Saturdays discussion---Back to School: Anti-racism in Education. Back to School this year cannot be a return to the familiar. What will each of us do to support systemic change in education? From the removal of school resource officers to attacks on critical race theory, our schools are a flashpoint in the larger struggle to acknowledge and end systemic racism. We will explore how white supremacy culture pervades our lives and our schools and the work we need to do to support fundamental change.

This is a family friendly event. Children will be invited to participate with the adults initially, with activities and supervision for the children provided for the rest of the event. Saturday Aug. 28, 11am-1pm, Burrows Park Shelter, 25 Burrows Rd. (on the lake, off Sherman Ave. on Madison’s wonderful east side). Light refreshments will be available.
