Look, the debut poetry collection by Solmaz Sharif, was a 2016 finalist for the National Book Award for Poetry, and named on the year-end book lists of many publications that year. It examines ongoing war, the language it engenders and the heavy toll it takes on human lives. Tthe New York Times Book Review says “Look is at once a command to see and to grieve the people these words describe — and also a means of implicating the reader in the violence delivered upon these people.”
