Squarewave
Since the last time Squarewave played out in 2019, the pandemic happened and the group released a new album...in that order. Now that shows are back, it’s time to celebrate Hazy, which was released last fall on CD and LP. The veteran Madison band is anchored by Patrick Connaughty and Jeff Jagielo (also bandmates in Ivory Library), currently joined by Alivia Kleinfeldt and Brendan Manley (both of Dash Hounds), plus Biff Blumfumgagnge (The Gomers). It’s atmospheric, complex rock of the highest order.
press release: Eighteen months after The Lockdown, clubs are reopening nationwide and live music is roaring back.
Squarewave, a continuing creative endeavor for nearly 30 years, melding original psychedelic folk-rock and electric, neo-dream pop, comes together Friday, August 6, at The Bur Oak to celebrate the release of Hazy on 180 gram vinyl and CD. Released at the height of the global pandemic, Hazy is the Squarewave’s fifth long player.
The group is comprised of longtime Ivory Library bandmates Jeff Jagielo and Patrick Connaughty on guitars and vocals. Newer members include Biff Blumfumgagnge on violin, Disq’s Brendan Manley on drums and his Dash Hounds collaborator Alivia Klenfeldt on bass.
Squarewave will play two sets Friday, August 6, at 7:30 PM at The Bur Oak, 2262 Winnebago Street, Madison. Doors at 6:30.
