A busy night of music features three or four bands tops, but the Greater Madison Jazz Consortium’s final “jazz stroll” of the year boasts a whopping nine instrumental and vocal jazz bands over a seven-hour stretch. Performers include the Stellanovas, the Kid Jordan Second Line, the Big Payback (pictured) and Tony Castañeda’s Latin Jazz Sextet.

The Madison Jazz Consortium’s third and final “jazz stroll” of the season will be held at Hilldale, 702 North Midvale Blvd., to help celebrate the end of construction on its majorly remodeled north end. We’ll have continuous and stylistically-diverse live jazz from 5:00 PM to Midnight at four venues (two indoor, two outdoor) with no cover charges. Here’s the line-up.

The Consortium will also hold a drawing at Strollin’ Hilldale for tickets to the 10/17/15 Bad Plus – Joshua Redman concert at the Wisconsin Union Theater, as well as gift certificates from Hilldale merchants including Sundance Cinemas, LUSH, Sur La Table, and Dolma’s Rejuventation.
