January 26: Sustainable Gardens & Landscapes
Learn about Sustainable Gardens & Landscapes with guest speaker Susan Carpenter, the native plant gardener at the UW-Madison Arboretum. Susan, works with students and many community volunteers to maintain and monitor a 4-acre demonstration garden representing the plant communities of southern Wisconsin. She also leads a pollinator conservation project that involves students and the public in documenting and studying native bumble bees, including the endangered rusty-patched bumble bee, Bombus affinis, which lives at the Arboretum and perhaps in your garden.
