press release:
On Saturday, October 29, TEDxMadison will be challenging the Madison community to think deeper at the fourth annual TEDxMadison conference. The conference will take place at the Overture Center for the Arts and feature eight thought leaders from the Madison area. The goal? Helping catalyze attendees to think and engage in new and more profound ways with emerging ideas in their community.
“This year’s team has been working hard to create a more reliable and sustainable structure to solidify the annual conference as a staple in the Madison community. We’re excited to be partnering with the Overture Center to host this year’s event and hope that this beginning of a long-term relationship. And most importantly, we’re looking forward to an invigorating day with thought provoking ideas and discussions that come straight from the heart of the Madison community,” said Tiffanie Mark, lead coordinator of TEDxMadison.
The 2016 TEDxMadison event is put on entirely by volunteers like Tiffanie, founder of Matrix Coworking. These volunteers came together with the purpose of connecting their community to spread local ideas in new ways.
“TEDx events rely heavily on community engagement to thrive, from an all volunteer team to in-kind and financial support from community partners to the hard work of speakers. We’re asking that participants consider purchasing a t-shirt to show support, or making an additional donation along with their ticket to help see TEDxMadison grow! Most importantly, though, we’re asking for the input and engagement of participants to make the event as meaningful and impactful as possible.”
The event will begin at 9am with a break for lunch on State Street as well as a cocktail hour and cash bar. Registration opened on October 1st and tickets can be purchased on our new website: TEDxMadison.com. To keep the conference intimate, only 100 tickets are for sale and are purchased on a first come, first served basis.
This years theme of “Think Deeper” really challenges the audience to approach social, economic, and environmental issues from an alternative perspective. TEDxMadison promises a highly engaging and thought provoking afternoon featuring ideas worth spreading from our city. We hope our audience and participants are as excited about this as we are!” said Tiffanie.
