UW Union South-The Marquee 1308 W. Dayton St., Madison, Wisconsin 53715
press release: The UW-Madison Havens Center for Social Justice announced the 2019 edition of its film series, SOCIAL CINEMA: STORIES OF STRUGGLE & CHANGE, which will start Wednesday, February 13, with the film The Devil We Know. D irected by Stephanie Soechtig, The Devil We Know is the story of how one synthetic chemical, used to make Teflon products, contaminated a West Virginia community. But new research hints at a much broader problem: nearly all Americans are affected by exposure to non-stick chemicals in food, drinking water, and consumer products. With very little oversight on the chemical industry in this country, we invite you to learn more about the problem and how you can protect yourself and your family. The film will be followed by a discussion led by Beth Neary, M.D., of the Wisconsin Environmental Health Network (WEHN). For more information, including a trailer, visit : https://havenscenter.
The film is free and open to the public and will be shown at the Marquee Theater, Union South, 1308 W. Dayton Street at 6:30pm.
