The Erotic Adventures of the Static Chicken
The winner of this week's imaginative and/or obtuse band name award certainly is The Erotic Adventures of the Static Chicken. A long-running Milwaukee-area band that has existed in various permutations over the years, their BlueStem Jazz concert is the spot to be for fans of improvised music. The project currently features the core trio of Aaron Turner (sax), Jeremy Kuzniar (drums) and Matt Turner (bass), and the only way to know what you will hear is to be there when it happens.
media release: Presented by BlueStem Jazz.
Aaron Gardner-- Saxophone, Flute, Chaos Pad
Jeremy Kuzniar-- Drums, Lyrics, Chicken Box
Matt Turner-- Stringed Instruments, Vocal Prowess, PaceMaker
The Erotic Adventures of the Static Chicken - 21 years of complete improvisation, a dozen members later, TEAOTSC continues to take on audiences with an interactive show not to be missed. Now a trio, ignoring genres and keeping all forms of humans interested is their only goal. The music comes first, directly after their sense of humor. You'll dance, you'll cry...you might even meet your soulmate.
Chaos Pad! Chicken Box! PaceMaker! I'm sold on any band with these instruments. PACEMAKER?! to be seen. For years, I have been chasing the CHICKEN all over Milwaukee, frequently checking in with Interpol and the Port Authorities, only to find them at the Jazz Estate one eve where $3 tall-boy pilsners fueled the rotisserie. Checking in with Mr. Turner and inviting him to the BlueStem series, he instantly replied "that dovetails nicely with our serious as a hemorrhoid concert series". SOLD! A back n forth ensued and eventually Dave King canceled and BlueStem won the meat raffle - CHICKEN!! Do not miss the band that has single-handedly dropped Milwaukee's city-wide IQ averages for decades and hopefully they will do the same for Madison. Liberals beware! - Thomas Ferrella
