Eric Siereveld, trumpet; Tony Barba, tenor saxophone; Mike Cammilleri, Hammond B3 organ; Dan Flynn, guitar; Keith Lienert, drums
Showcasing music composed and performed by our community’s top jazz musicians, the Jazz Consortium’s final InDIGenous concert of the Spring season wraps up with a terrific band dedicated to the soulful, swinging 1960s tradition of the Hammond B3 Organ quintet while exploring the advancements of great musicians like organists Larry Young, Sam Yahel, and Dr. Lonnie Smith, as well as saxophonists Wayne Shorter and Ralph Bowen. While comprised predominantly of original compositions by its leader, UW Latin Jazz Ensemble Director Eric Siereveld, this concert will also include a few seminal classics from great B3 quintet recordings of the past.
