Archives Month Open House
Wednesday, October 14, 2015, 3-7 pm
In celebration of Archives Month, the Wisconsin Historical Society Archives will be hosting an open house at its headquarters. Stop by to view rarely seen historical treasures from the Society’s Archives. You’ll find examples from the collections that illustrate the story of the Lewis and Clark expedition, the American Civil Rights Movement, Hollywood, the history of Wisconsin, and more. Among the treasures you’ll see are a letter written by Thomas Jefferson, a draft of the Wisconsin state constitution from 1846, and an original script from the movie Citizen Kane (courtesy of the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research). Staff will be on hand to answer questions and talk about the items on display.
This event will take place in Library Reading Room at the Wisconsin Historical Society Headquarters, 2nd floor.
