Tret Fure
Tret Fure’s new album, Lavender Moonshine, emerged in August and will be celebrated at this Madison Folk Music Society matinee show. The folk music hero began singing as a teen in the Midwest before moving to Los Angeles when she was 19. Five decades later the highly awarded singer-songwriter (and longtime Madison resident, now based in Virginia) is still creating beautiful and provocative songs that are soaked in social justice themes but never heavy-handed.
media release: Tret Fure is coming back to Madison to celebrate the release of her 18th album, “Lavender Moonshine”. The Madison Folk Music Society will be presenting Tret at The Harmony Bar on Sunday, October 8 at 5 PM. The Harmony Bar is located at 2201 Atwood Ave in Madison.
Tickets are $17 advance and $20 day of show.
Tret just released her 18th album, “Lavender Moonshine”, and will be performing songs from the new CD. She continues to bring her beautiful music to us in all its creative complexity. She just won the 2023 Phil Ochs Award in recognition of her music and activism for social and political justice. Add that to a long list of awards and achievements more of which you can see at www.tretfure.com/biography.
Tret was a long-time resident of Madison and we are excited that she is stopping by Madison for a visit to bring us this show! Don’t miss this fantastic live show, her stories and songs are not to be missed. You can watch videos of Tret’s performances at https://www.youtube.com/
As part of Mad Folk standing tradition, we encourage audience members to bring non-perishable foods and/or personal care items to the concert as donations to a local food bank.
The concert is sponsored by the Madison Folk Music Society, who is gearing up for their 50th year of bring music to Madison. www.madfolk.org
