Trolls in Art

press release: Livsreise Norwegian Heritage Center, 277 W. Main Street, Stoughton, welcomes award-winning local fine artist and illustrator Ingrid Kallick for a presentation on some of the great Scandinavian artists and folklorists who established the look of trolls and other hidden folk as we know them today. Using examples from her newly released picture book “Two Troll Tales From Norway”, Ms. Kallick will talk about her illustration process. The book features translations of two Peter Christen Asbjørnsen stories retold by the author Margrete Lamond.

Ingrid Kallick’s illustrations have appeared in Communication Arts, Scientific American, the covers of Science and Cricket. Awards: Best Magazine Illustration from the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators in 2012 and 2015; Bologna Book Fair SCBWI Selection 2011 and 2013. Society of Illustrators Los Angeles Bronze Award, 2015.
