media release: Truth and the 2026 Election: Do You Trust the News? A conversation with (and about) The New York Times.
Tuesday, September 15, 2026 | 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. CT, Pyle Center Alumni Lounge (1st Floor)
With the 2026 midterm elections approaching, top Times journalists will discuss and debate how they cover national and local politics and what it takes to earn reader trust. Attendees will be invited to ask questions (the tougher, the better) in a Q&A.
The panel will feature The Times’s assistant managing editor for standards and trust Patrick Healy, White House correspondent Zolan Kanno-Youngs and Chicago Bureau chief and UW alumna Julie Bosman.
