This marks the eighth year that Bobby Hussy’s Kind Turkey Records has hosted its annual Turkeyfest, and this incarnation promises to be another wild three-day celebration of eccentric punk rock. Highlights include local favorites The Hussy (pictured), Wood Chickens, Fire Heads, Dumb Vision and German Art Students, as well as a handful of national and international acts, including Kiwi garage punks BloodBags and Memphis-based darkwave outfit Sweet Knives, a reboot of Lost Sounds minus the late, great Jay Reatard. Friday, October 13 - Crystal Corner Bar - $8 - 10 PM

THE HUSSY (Southpaw Records, Big Neck Records, Rare Plant, Kind Turkey, Windian, Goodbye Boozy, Tic Tac Totally, ETC): Madison punk rock poppers. Two-piece turned Three-piece. More dynamic and driving than ever!  Closing things out at Crystal Corner with their patented brand of noise pop garage punk. Members of Proud Parents, Fire Heads, Heather The Jerk, Cave Curse, Cool Building. For fans of: Jay Reatard, Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, The Beatles, Buzzcocks, Cheap Time.

SWEET KNIVES (Big Neck Records, Red Lounge Records): Memphis, Tennessee, darkwave synth punk for the garage-rock set! This is a reboot of legendary synth outfit LOST SOUNDS, minus Jay Reatard (RIP) of course. Like many greats, Lost Sounds were a band with two central songwriting figures, Alicja Trout and Jay Reatard. The group disbanded in 2005 with all members continuing music in some capacity. Sweet Knives wisely sticks to Lost Sounds songs penned by Alicja Trout as well as writing and recording new songs under the new name. The debut S/T LP will be available at the show! Fantastic synth punk with plenty of hooks to keep you coming back for more! Members of The Clears, Lover, River City Tanlines and more! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.For fans of: The Screamers, Urinals, Units, Suicide, Nervous Gender.

CAVE CURSE (Kind Turkey Records, FDH Records, P. Trash Records): Madison synth punk group featuring members of The Hussy, Fire Heads, Poney, No Hoax, And Illusions, ETC. This will be the first Cave Curse show featuring the new 4-piece lineup of Bobby Hussy (Synths, Vocals), Ben Brooks (Drums), Tyler Spatz (Bass) and Emili Earhart (Synths & Noises). The previous lineup was a two-piece with quite a different feel. Crushing synth tones, pulsing rhythms and over the top gothy vocals. For fans of: Digital Leather, Tuxedomoon, Lost Sounds.

SOLID FREEX: Solid Freex are Trin Tran & Sons! Total Punx from Madison. Angular skate punk with wild and sometimes complex, sometimes simple songs. Very out there. Very fun. Debut LP is coming soon and was recorded/mixed by Bobby Hussy. For fans of: The Spits, MOTO, Suicidal Tendencies, Descendants.
