Join us tonight, January 11, 2022, at 7:00 pm, for a presentation by Dr. Floyd Rose from the 100 Black Men of Madison. Dr. Rose will speak about his work with the 100 Black Men of Madison as they are our 2021 Global Citizen Award Recipient.
Utilizing a career span of more than 40+ years to evaluate, analyze and develop policy for private and public sector organizations concerning, instruction, operational and marketing practices & policy, Floyd Rose has an extensive history both as an educator, independent business owner and contractor providing guidance to Fortune 500 Corporations, Government Bodies and Educational Institutions.
His presentation is titled Reading is Freedom. One of the many strategic development goals of the UN is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all to abate poverty, hunger and ensure good health and well-being.
Only 17% of Black students are adequate readers by 8th grade in the U.S. and roughly 2/3’s of students living in poverty do not read at grade level and approximately one-third (1/3) of all Black children lived in poverty during 2020. His presentation titled "Reading is Freedom" will outline the necessity to ensure inclusive and equitable education in order to combat larger inequality issues such as hunger and poverty within the Black Community.
