University Theatre: "Fugitive Songs"
UW Vilas Hall-Mitchell Theatre 821 University Ave., Madison, Wisconsin 53715
press release: A young man recounts his fractured relationship with his father...
A middle-aged woman humors herself about the loser she has been married to...
A road trip turns into a zany felony leading to a run from the law...
Our life choices never fade quietly into the distance, they inspire us and remind us of why transitions are important. The predictability of a routine can be a comfort and it can be a curse. So sometimes we run.
Fugitive Songs is that journey. It is that expedition in which people say, "I could be something greater." The road to anywhere is mired in the unknown, but "there is hope in the forecast and one day we're bound to shine."
In her directorial debut, Tony Award winning actress, Karen Olivo, presents a song cycle that travels across America. Under her direction, Alyssa Beasley (Barrett), Nick Connors (Matt), Jana Cozine (Rachel), Megan Hofschulte (Karen), Ethan Larsen (Gavin), Andrew Lonsdale (Joshua), Kate Mann (Kate), Jeremy Mendoza (Jeremy), and Hannah Ripp-Dieter (Alysha) shine as the performers that will soon grace professional stages all over the country.
