media release: Wisconsin men's soccer fell to UIC on Monday by a 2-0 score. The Badgers' first road game of the season resulted in their first loss of the season, dropping their record to 3-1.
Wisconsin dominated possession early in the game, but it was UIC who struck in the 21st minute. The goal came on a rebound after a Nate Crockford save that the Flames' Andres Moreno smashed into the goal.
Wisconsin finished the first half with shot advantage of 8-4.
UW continued to push, but any hopes of a UW comeback were brought down when UIC finished on a counter attack in the 71st minute that ended with a double-assist goal.
The last three shots Wisconsin took all failed to find the frame.
Up Next: UW returns to McClimon Soccer Complex on Friday, Sept. 8 against Mercer for the second annual 'March to McClimon' from DeJope Residence Hall. Free pizza, yard games will be offered, while the first 200 students will receive a free T-shirt. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. before fans begin their march at 6 p.m. Head Coach Neil Jones is scheduled to speak.
The game can be streamed on the B1G+ app and bigtenplus.com at 7 p.m.
