press release: William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison will hold two events at the end of May for veterans, their families, and community stakeholders to learn about the changes that are coming when the MISSION Act is implemented June 6, 2019.
“The VA MISSION Act of 2018 empowers veterans and enhances care options,” said John Rohrer, hospital Director. “We are proactively communicating these changes to our Veterans to ensure they understand these new benefits.”
The first event will be a Telephone Town Hall meeting at noon on Wednesday, May 29.
The hospital will contact 20,000 randomly selected patients to receive calls at noon on May 29. Patient will have the option to stay on the call and participate in the telephone town hall.
The hospital wants to include all veterans and stakeholders interested in participating, so is also offering a registration option. Veterans and stakeholders can guarantee they are included in the call list by pre-registering at: https://dashboard.teletownhall.us/registration/D8EJALB6P32Q
Only a phone number is required to opt in.
The telephone town hall event will last 1 hour.
All participants who are unable to ask their question live will have the option to leave a personal message either with an operator or via a voice mail option at the end of the call. Questions will be consolidated, and answers will be posted as a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) file on the Madison VA Website.
The second event will be a Face to Face Town Hall in the Hospital Auditorium on the following day, May 30, also at noon.
Hospital leadership will provide a presentation about the upcoming changes and will be available to answer questions. The event is expected to last 90 minutes.
