Voces de la Frontera Lobby Day
Capitol 2 E. Main St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
press release: Did you know that anti-immigrant politicians have introduced a slew of legislation in Madison? Join us on Wednesday, January 20th at 9am in Room 300 NE at the Capitol in Madison for a day of lobbying in defense of immigrant and worker rights!
Anti-immigrant legislators have put forward bills to:
Permit police and public employees to ask people about their immigration status (AB 450)
Impound the cars of people stopped for driving without a license
Block local control and local ID cards (SB 533)
On January 20th, we will visit lawmakers to urge them to oppose all three bills and testify in a public hearing at 10am on AB 450 in Room 412 East.
We will have a bus available in Racine and Milwaukee for those who need a ride. The bus leaves from the Racine Labor Center (2100 Layard Ave.) at 6:30am and from Voces de la Frontera (1027 S. 5th Street) in Milwaukee at 7am. Please call 414-643-1620 for more information. Lunch will be provided.
