media release: The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southwest Region is hosting two public involvement meetings in June for the Madison Beltline Planning and Environment Linkages (PEL) Corridor Study. The meetings will provide an update on the status of the study and gather input on the Draft Strategy Packages assembled to address long term safety, accessibility, operational, and infrastructure concerns on approximately 20 miles of US 12/14/18/151 (Beltline) extending from US 14 (city of Middleton) to County N (town of Cottage Grove) in Dane County.
The meetings will take place:
Tuesday, June 6
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Presentation at 5:30 p.m.), Vel Phillips Memorial High School -Wisconsin Neighborhood Center, 201 S Gammon Road, Madison
Wednesday, June 7
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Presentation at 5:30 p.m.), Boys and Girls Club of Dane County, 4619 Jenewein Road, Fitchburg
The same material will be presented at both meetings, providing you with a choice for which meeting works best for your schedule.
Please note that the PEL study is a long-term planning study and no construction projects are identified at this time.
The public plays an important role in the study process, and we encourage residents and anyone that travels the Beltline to attend one of the two meetings to learn about the study process and provide insights and feedback. The input received from these meetings will help shape the future of the Beltline.
