press release: The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a public hearing on Thursday, December 15, in Madison, to give people an opportunity to provide formal comments on the final draft of the State Freight Plan and its System-plan Environmental Evaluation (SEE).
The hearing will be held at the WisDOT Southwest Region office, 2101 Wright Street, Madison, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. A short presentation will be made at 5:45 p.m. During the formal hearing, people can provide written and oral testimony in an open setting. Attendees also have the opportunity to provide oral testimony in a private setting. Full details are available on the project website at wisconsinfreightplan.gov.
The meeting facility is both wheelchair and transit accessible. Any person planning to attend one of these informational meetings who requires an interpreter or American Sign Language interpreter should notify WisDOT two business days before the meeting date by emailing freightplan@dot.wi.gov or calling (608) 266-9476.
State Freight Plan available for review online and at locations across the state
Enhancing freight mobility is a top priority for WisDOT, and the State Freight Plan will develop one cohesive vision for an integrated and multimodal freight network. The final draft includes input received from public involvement meetings and stakeholder meetings held this fall, as well as letters, email and phone calls received during the comment period.
The final draft of the State Freight Plan will be published on the department’s website on Friday, December 9.
A copy of the draft plan may be reviewed at the WisDOT Central Office Library, 4802 Sheboygan Avenue, Madison or at any of the WisDOT Region offices. Copies are also available at:

Input encouraged: This is one of three public hearings being held. Input from these hearings sessions will be incorporated into a final freight plan where appropriate. People unable to attend a hearing may also provide input by:
