press release; With Election Day just around the corner, the debate around voting rights is taking center stage. Voter ID laws, early voting and limitations on voter registration have all made headlines in recent weeks. Join the American Constitution Society (ACS) Madison Lawyer Chapter, the ACS University of Wisconsin Student Chapter and the student chapter of the Federalist Society for a panel discussion on Wisconsin’s voter ID statute, recent litigation challenging ID requirements, redistricting issues, campaign finance regulations, and the current state of the law heading into November’s election. The panel will feature: Susan Crawford, Pines Bach LLP and counsel to the League of Women Voters in ongoing Wisconsin voter ID litigation; Misha Tseytlin, Solicitor General of Wisconsin; Scott McDonell, Dane County Clerk; Bill Whitford, UW Law Professor Emeritus and lead plaintiff in Whitford v. Gill challenge to Wisconsin redistricting; and Rob Yablon, UW Law Assistant Professor.
